Services Available


Information and Referral:
Our comprehensive resource guide allows us to refer people to the most appropriate agency or service.


Advocacy/Family Violence:
Support to victims of Family Violence through community education, counseling, referrals, support groups, accompanying victims to court hearings, and assistance with forms.

Transportation:
Volunteer drivers provide transportation to medical appointments for individuals who are unable to drive or who have no other resource for transportation.

Care Calls:
Elementary school children make daily calls to senior citizens or individuals who are disabled, live alone, or who are in need of friendly support.


Counseling:
Limited funds are available for counseling with certified counselors. Also college intern available to provide counseling for those in need.

Dental:
Offers limited financial assistance for emergency dental care.

OTHER SERVICES

Financial Assistance:
Needs Council staff administers the Gillespie County Ministerial Association funds and restricted funds to assist with financial emergencies, i.e., utilities, medications, rent, etc.

Navigator:
A volunteer who assists in managing personal and financial paperwork and correspondence.

Yard Care & Handy Man Services:
For elderly and disabled individuals.

Hill Country Recording for the Handicapped:
The Needs Council is a collection point for recorded tapes.

Ghost Busters:
If you don’t know who else to call, call the Needs Council.
