A record number of volunteers (103) attended the annual appreciation picnic hosted at the Tatsch House by the board members of the Needs Council. Everyone agreed that Marc Bennett's barbeque was "the best ever." Cranky Frank's provided their famous slaw. Shannon Nagel of Shannon's Wedding Cakes baked and decorated a delicious cream cake saying "Thanks for Volunteering," with heart highlights.
Musicians Derek Spence and Graham Pearson earned appreciative applause by playing a variety of popular tunes. Fredericksburg Farms' geraniums decorated the tables and were given as door prizes. Other items completing the meal were brought by various board members. Fun was had by volunteers and staff on this weather-made-to-order evening of April 21.
